Based on real work design projects, you'll:

  • Get a refresh and update of Illustrator tools and functions
  • Create complex illustrations, business graphics, mock-ups, visual assets for web and apps, and more
  • Understand and master live objects
  • Learn productivity boosting techniques from the experts

Building on Adobe Illustrator Level 1, you'll bring your Illustrator skills to the next level, utilizing essential productivity and quality enhancement features.

Course Format

This is a classroom based, instructor led course, taking place in Austin, Texas.

  • Remember to bring your own computer (BYOC!)
  • The course is offered on a first come first serve basis, and space is limited!

This is a two-day course, lasting from 9am to 4pm each day. We usually do a 1-hour lunch break at noon, and additional morning and afternoon breaks.

What You Learn

These are the main topics covered in this course:

  • A comprehensive update on tools and features in the latest version of Illustrator
  • Creative use of text and typography
  • Blending shapes and colors
  • Working with live objects, live paint and live trace (Image Trace)
  • Understanding how layers and sublayers work
  • Apply an efficient, semi-automatic work-flows based on graphic styles, symbols, brushes, and more
  • Understanding how colors and get an introduction to color management

Students are welcome to bring their own design projects for evaluation and problem solving.

Pre-Requisites

This course is building on the contents of the Illustrator level 1 course, and we recommend taking the Level 1 course first, even if you have some experience with Illustrator.

What You Need To Bring

This is a BYOC class, so students must bring their own computer (Mac or PC) running the necessary software.

If you don’t own a Creative Cloud license, you can buy a subscription at Adobe.com, or download the free trial version. We will be more than glad to help you with download, installation and set-up instructions ahead of the course.

Also, please remember to bring any extra equipment necessary to make your computer work, like power adaptor, your favorite mouse/pointing device, etc.

We will supply you with all the necessary files to complete lessons and exercises, but feel free to bring some of your own work files if you have them.
